Mandala on wood

I started sawing cirkles of wood, 50 cm in diameter. And then started to roughly sketch a mandala design on there. The burning proces is very soothing and serene. Because I already drew the design, all I had to do is follow the lines.

After I made a couple of mandala’s i figured… “I have to do something with them”. I can display them on a wall, but what if I can make a little side table! So that’s what I did. I gave the finised pieces a transparent lacquer and attatched them to a frame I found at a thriftshop.

This is the result. It stands in the studio now, as source of inspiration and also as motivation to alsway try and get more out of the work I make.
